Taste of the World Cooking Demonstration & Tasting Events

The first Taste of the World Cooking Demonstration & Tasting event was held on Saturday, February 15.  Keobi Restaurant (Albany, NY), with the dynamic duo Kelechi and Obinna and more than four decades in the restaurant and catering industry, brought event participants a taste of Africa. Participants learned how to cook a signature dish from the Keobi kitchen and treated their tastebuds to a tasting! Everyone received the recipe to experiment with in their home kitchens.

Our Taste of the World events foster community empowerment and cultural understanding.  They are a testament to food’s power to unite people, bridge cultural divides, and create a more inclusive and equitable society through culinary artistry and unwavering support for community initiatives.

Taste of the World is a fundraiser for the International Center of the Capital Region, whose nonprofit mission is to cultivate professional, cultural, and social exchange and global thought leadership in the Greater Capital Region. In 2024, the Center hosted 98 international leaders from 36 countries. Thanks to fundraisers like Taste of the World, the Center is connecting our Community to the World!

In the coming months, we will host pop-up Taste of the World cooking demonstrations and tasting events with our community partners. For more information, please email [email protected] this page to check on the next Taste of the World event!
