We are excited to announce that with support from the Common Roots Foundation, we will be hosting our second event in the Taste of the World Cooking Demonstration & Tasting Cultural Wellness series.
Here are the details:
WHAT: Nourishing Japan–Premiere Film Screening & Discussion
WHEN: Tuesday, September 23, 2025 | 5:30 PM
WHERE: Common Roots Albany Outpost located at 19 Quackenbush Square, Albany, NY 12207

The short film explores how Japan’s groundbreaking 2005 Food Education Law reimagined school lunch, nutrition, and food culture-shaping the next generation’s connection to food, the earth, and each other.
Following the screening, enjoy a simple Japanese food tasting inspired by the film.

Did you miss the first event in the series, Summer Fresh Flavors, that took place on August 7 at Sunhee’s Farm & Kitchen? Participants learned how to prepare Kimchi, a traditional Korean side dish, and were treated to a sample. Sunhee’s founder and owner, Jinah Ahn shared her powerful immigrant story– one of resilience, vision, love of family, and the deep impact of investing in the community.
