WHEN: Saturday, February 15 @ 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
WHERE: Singles Outreach Services Community Room located at 435 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12295. Directions: From 2W of Northway, go West on Central Ave. for 1.7 mi, and turn right on New Karner Rd. (Rt. 155 – Rite Aid on corner)) for 0.6 mi. Hanover Square is on the right, set back from the road. (435 Address sign at road & Blue Flag at our door) The middle door on the right side of bldg is labeled “Hill St.” entrance. In the lobby, the left door is on the ground floor. EVENT RESTAURANT PARTNER: Keobi Restaurant (Albany, NY). Kelechi and Obinna are the dynamic duo behind Keobi; they are more than just restaurateurs; they are champions of cultural exchange and community empowerment. With a combined experience of over 40 years in the restaurant and catering industry, they have established a culinary haven in Albany and cultivated a vibrant space that celebrates African heritage and fosters understanding between cultures. Keobi is not just a restaurant; it is a testament to food’s power to unite people, bridge cultural divides, and create a more inclusive and equitable society through culinary artistry and unwavering support for community initiatives like the Taste of the World events.
TICKET PRICE: $25.00 per person. Note: If you are a member of the International Center of the Capital Region and attend the Taste of the World events, each time you attend, your name will be entered into a drawing for a special prize at the end of 2025 to show our deep appreciation. EVENT DESCRIPTION:
Participants will learn how to cook a recipe from the kitchen of Keobi Restaurant. Taste of the World participants will be delighted with a tasting of a favorite dish from Keobi restaurant. All participants will receive the recipe. Other fun activities to entertain guests will be included.
Taste of the World is a fundraiser for the International Center of the Capital Region, whose nonprofit mission is to cultivate professional, cultural, and social exchange and global thought leadership in the Greater Capital Region. In 2024, the Center hosted 98 international leaders from 36 countries. Thanks to fundraisers like Taste of the World, the Center is connecting our Community to the World!
